Last fall, NNTA participated in the It’s Time Tampa Bay survey on growth and transportation in the tri-county region. Your opinion is needed again to help Hillsborough County MPO choose highest priority transportation projects. You could win Rays/Bucs/Lightning tickets.
Take and share the survey here by July 28th: http://www.planhillsborough.org/2045lrtp/
Is TOD in New North’s Future?
See great new report about transit oriented development. NNTA has hosted presentations about the University Area Intermodal Center study that seeks to locate a transit hub somewhere in the New North area. This hub is proposed to connect New North to a major regional ‘catalyst’ premium transit service, such as Bus Rapid Transit, currently under study. To make a transit hub successful, many people need easy access to it. “Transit Oriented Development” is one tool to achieve easy access to transit. The report, Transit Oriented Development and Value Capture: A Study of Best Practices for the Tampa Bay Region was supported by a grant from the Tampa Bay Partnership Foundation and researched by Taryn Sabia, Director of the Florida Center for Community Design + Research and Research Associate Professor for the University of South Florida’s School of Architecture + Community Design.
